POSITION TITLE: Digital Marketing Consultant

REPORTS TO: CEO

LOCATION: Charleston, SC Office

DEPARTMENT: Sales

Start Date: Immediately

BASIC FUNCTION: To contract and on-board new agency clients. Responsible for prospecting new accounts, identifying decisions makers, and keeping accurate data and information on all contacts. Consultants are responsible for initial contact, follow-up, sales appointment, negotiating contract, and maintaining the account relationship. He or she must develop sales plans for each prospect, assess prospect readiness, audit digital presence and identify opportunities for improvement.

Clients are serviceable in the following primary markets:

  • South East: TX, AR, LA, MS, AL, GA, SC, NC, TN, KY, OK
  • North East: VA, WV, MD, DE, NJ, PA, NY, CT, RI, MA, VT, NH, MN
  • Florida/Caribbean: FL, V.I, BS, DR, BC PR…
  • West: CA, NV, OR, WA, ID, MT, AK, HI, AZ, NM
  • Central: WY, UT, CO, KS, NB, IA, ND, SD, MN, WI, IL, MI, IN, OH

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Must be able to quickly explain the benefits of The Modern Connection, answer the most common questions about the company, and walk the client through the onboarding process – from paperwork to taking the client on line with the company. The Digital Marketing Consultant must be able to efficiently and effectively communicate the advantages of The Modern Connection solution, maintain the satisfaction of the client in the interests of developing long-term account relationships.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Proven sales record
  • Comfortable making outreach calls to businesses
  • Strong ability to both prospect and close new business
  • Excellent Presentation Skills (public speaking, radio / TV appearances, phone / web / video conferences)
  • Outgoing personality and comfortable in all social situations
  • Master of small talk & relationship building
  • Ability to “work a room” and make a friend out of anyone
  • Assertive personality, persistent, and a great listener
  • Ability to develop and maintain professional relationships (internal, client, community)
  • Comfortable presenting to a board of high level executives and small businesses alike
  • Ability to be coached and apply constructive feedback toward skills and position
  • Excellent project and time management skills
  • Strong understanding of social media and digital marketing
  • Knowledge of business and management principles
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Organizational skills with experience managing a CRM and mastering the follow up
  • Ability to work collaboratively AND independently
  • Self motivated with the continued desire to improve both personally and professionally
  • Professional in appearance and in demeanor
  • Strong moral compass with a genuine passion for helping others
  • Must be tech-savvy and own / operate a smart phone and personal computer (bonus points if you’re Mac savvy)
  • Must be knowledgeable on current tech and digital marketing news and be active on personal social media channels

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Make outreach calls to small to medium sized businesses to introduce The Modern Connection
  • Take inbound calls to explain services offered and to pair a customer with effective solutions
  • Consult with business owners / decision makers and provide service recommendations
  • Demonstrate advanced product knowledge and advantages of digital marketing
  • Maintain client relationships, facilitate team / client communication and ensure client satisfaction
  • Oversee client account details
  • Attend ongoing client meetings, creative sessions and team meetings
  • Participate in all team building, personal and business development and client events
  • Attend community and networking events on behalf of The Modern Connection
  • Speak to area associations, groups and organizations
  • Represent The Modern Connection at trade shows, area events & conferences
  • Light clerical & administrative duties as needed
  • Additional job duties as required

COMPENSATION AND QUOTAS

The Digital Marketing Consultant compensation package will offer an initial payout amount and a defined incentive revenue tier that is a) signed, and, b) maintained.

Given the entrepreneurial nature of the position, the Digital Marketing Consultant will be required to participate in weekly sales call, submit weekly progress reports and account notes via both a) email, and b) the master account database.
