May’s employee spotlight focuses on Kylie Parr, Social Media Manager. Read on to learn more about her role at TMC!


Employee Spotlight: Kylie Parr, Social Media Manager


What is your position here at The Modern Connection and what do you do?

I am a Social Media Manager and New Team Trainer at The Modern Connection. My typical day as an SSM can range from posting to Instagram, creating graphics, creating content, scheduling, writing a blog, brainstorming new ideas with the team, attending events, and more. Each day we work to keep up with all of the new social media trends as a team. Moving forward in my new position, I will be helping with our seasonal interns and training new additions to the TMC team. Our team is growing and I couldn’t be more excited for what the future holds for our company and our clients!


What did you do before working at The Modern Connection?

Before joining The Modern Connection I had been working as a freelance Social Media Manager with a degree in Graphic Design and a background in print. I started moving towards Digital Marketing while helping friends and small businesses with their online presence.


How did you learn to do what you do?

The more I learned about the Social Media industry the more passionate I became. I decided I wanted to add more freelance clients to my plate and registered for my Social Media Certification from The College of Charleston. During the Digital Marketing and Social Media course, I met our CEO and Founder, Ashley Caldwell. I knew working with a team, specifically at The Modern Connection, was exactly what I had been searching for.

What is your favorite project you’ve worked on at The Modern Connection?

I have always loved creating graphics. There’s nothing better than starting from scratch, creating something visually appealing, applying this to your client’s business, reaching the masses, and tracking the analytics. From start to finish, it’s rewarding to see the entire process come together.


What do you love about working at The Modern Connection?

Hands down, our team! We are just a bunch of independent and innovative animal lovers, bookworms, exercise junkies, artists, music addicts, fashionistas, beach bums, and adventurers that feed off of each other’s creativity. There is no better feeling than working with a talented team of friends that also thrive together in a professional environment. When an idea strikes, we have an integrated team that will bring it to life.


What is your favorite quote that applies to your work?

“She turned her cant’s into cans and her dreams into plans.”


What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

While away from the office, you can find me trying out a new food and bev spot, listening to live music, or spending time with friends and family at King’s Mountain Lake or Folly Beach.

Her role encompasses many different tasks, included website design, client management, and the creation of TMC Academy, our DIY training suite.
